Stand-up Breakthrough Workshop & Performance

This workshop is designed to help anyone take the next step in stand-up comedy. Whether that be improving the material and/or process you already have, or finally taking the plunge to perform your set for the first time!

Workshop sessions will focus on performing material and ‘punching it up’ with the coaches. All suggestions are meant to be helpful based on the experience and successes of each individual coach. Stand-up should always be exactly what you want to say/convey. The remainder of sessions focus on different topics such as: stage presence, owning your voice, crowd work, comedic styles, networking, writing tips, etc. Course is open to those 16+, but adult material will be discussed.

WHEN
Every SUNDAY for 4 weeks starting Sunday March 13th through April 6th, 2022. Course goes from 2 PM to 3:30 PM at Sugar Space Studios 132 S 800 W, Salt Lake City, UT. (Tanner Studio, on right side of parking lot.)

*Come to the first workshop with 3 minutes of standup prepared (written or performance ready).*
5th Week -The Breakthrough Showcase-
Sunday, 4/10, 7 PM
On the fifth Sunday, we will have a public show: The Breakthrough Showcase. The lineup will be class attendees and the coaches. Performing is optional (but you’ll prolly wanna freaking do it). Everyone is invited to attend. Entry $5 to the public.

COST
$120 Full Course + Performance
$30 single class payment plan available, but your spot is not guaranteed past week one if we have a larger than normal class. Purchase the $30 single class so we have a head count for attendance. Paying in full guarantees your spot in the classes and performance.
