The 39 Steps

Weber State University theatre program will present a production of “The 39 Steps,” a play based on the 1935 Alfred Hitchcock film of the same name, beginning Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Val A. Browning Center.

A tribute to Hitchcock, “The 39 Steps” packs espionage, plane chases, murder and romance into a thrilling comedic adventure. The play follows the story of Richard Hannay; an ordinary man, down on his luck, who becomes entangled in a series of high-stakes escapades.



The production will run Feb. 21-22 and 26-29 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee on Feb. 29 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at or at the Browning Center box office, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for seniors/military and $8.25 for students.

Graphic Designer; UDAM Teaching Artist | David received his BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University in 2006. In 2008, he became one of the first illustrators to become a Children’s Book Design Fellow at Chronicle Books in San Francisco. For the next eight years, David continued to work as an illustrator and designer, both in-house and freelance. Then, In 2017, he earned his MFA in Studio Art, with a Graphic Design emphasis, from The University of Utah.
