The Bitter Price

NEXT Ensemble performs The Bitter Price by J. Taylor Arnold. The piece is about the lives, struggles, and achievements of some of Joseph Smith’s first plural wives: Zina Diantha Huntington, Emily Dow Partridge, Helen Mar Kimball, Eliza Partridge. The sung text is from their own writings and gives a snapshot of their hardships and sacrifices. These women’s stories are often tucked away as history of a different time, but they deserve to be heard, and in their own words.
