Transcontinental: People, Place, Impact - Exhibition @ Rio Gallery

Featuring the work of more than 30 Utah artists, this exhibition examines the legacy and impact of the Transcontinental Railroad.

Join us for an artist reception on April 19 from 6 – 9 pm, with a special performance by artist Gregg Deal at 7 pm. The exhibition will run from March 22 – June 14.

KATIE SHEEN ABBOTT

Choreographer; Dancer; Musician; UDAM Teaching Artist | Katie regularly performs throughout Utah with her cuadro which includes: Jake Abbott (guitar and cante), Sandy Meek (guitar), and Julie Sheen (cajon and palmas). While growing up in Utah she studied jazz, ballet, tap and hip-hop. After moving to Baltimore, Maryland for graduate school she fell in love with Flamenco after taking her first Sevillanas class. She studied with Solange Gomes for several years in Salt Lake City and most recently she lived in Sevilla, Spain where she studied with many flamenco maestros, including Luisa Palacio, Angel Atienza, Isabel Bayon and Javier Baron.
