Spencer Fox Eccles: Treasures of the Transcontinental Railroad

Start to Finish: The 1862 Pacific Railway Act to the 1869 Last Spikes at Promontory.

Don’t miss your chance to see artifacts from the transcontinental railroad on exhibit at the Utah State Capitol for this 150th anniversary celebration. For the first time since May 10, 1869, three out of four of the spikes used at Promontory Summit to signify the completion of the railroad will be on display together, and traveling from the National Archives in Washington D.C., see the original 1862 Pacific Railway Act signed by President Abraham Lincoln. Graphic Designer; UDAM Teaching Artist | David received his BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University in 2006. In 2008, he became one of the first illustrators to become a Children’s Book Design Fellow at Chronicle Books in San Francisco. For the next eight years, David continued to work as an illustrator and designer, both in-house and freelance. Then, In 2017, he earned his MFA in Studio Art, with a Graphic Design emphasis, from The University of Utah.
