Type 1 Diabetes: Teens and Parents Workshop

Steven Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, yoga instructor, and meditation teacher in training with the Integrative Restoration Institute, and has been living with type 1 diabetes for over fifteen years. He has seen and experienced the traumatic effects of living with diabetes and dealing with the myriad demands the illness puts on loved ones. 

He has presented for the Utah School Nurses’ Association’s annual conference and at the request of the American Diabetes Association. This workshop will provide attendees with new skills and information for how to handle living with this chronic illness, including:

~Tools and practices to lower stress and anxiety
~Approaches for communicating about diabetes effectively
~Deeper understanding of the emotional and psychological impacts of type 1 diabetes
~Opportunity to meet and connect with others within the diabetes community 

Diabetes-friendly refreshments will be provided.
