Valentine Paper Cutting and Pioneer Crafts
Have you ever made a paper valentine? On Saturday, Feb. 15 there will be a presentation on the history of paper cutting and demonstrations by the Board of the Santa Clara Historical Museum. This is going to be hands on demonstration.
Remember when Valentines Day was simpler? When most valentines were homemade, left on doorsteps with a quick knock or kick and a fast escape? When the recipient would hurry to see who had left the sweet thoughts before they could get away? Nowadays the stores fill their shelves with boxes of valentines of all kinds the week after Christmas so children can have plenty of time to choose their favorite cartoon or superhero theme.
