Vivaldi by Candlelight Fundraising Gala

Vivaldi by Candlelight is a signature fundraising gala of the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy and directly supports our programs and mission. A portion of your ticket price is tax deductible.

At the turn of the 18th century, London was swept by a craze for anything Italian, especially music. Italian composers like Francesco Geminiani and Giovanni Bononcini were wildly successful in the UK for much of their careers. Some English composers like Charles Avison fawned over and imitated the style of Geminiani and other Italian idols. However, other composers like William Boyce sought to preserve a traditional “English” sound.
