Wasatch Iron Pen Competition

Artists of the written word face off in a 24-hour writing competition.

Artists of the written word face off in a 24-hour writing competition. Adult and Youth writers can participate in one of three categories (fiction, non-fiction and poetry) or can take on the Ultra IronPen challenge and write in all three! Winning writers will receive prizes and have a chance to read their work at the Utah Arts Festival Big Mouth Stage!

$10 for single genre entry (Fiction, Poetry or Nonfiction. $15 for Ultra Iron Pen (all three).

After receiving the visual prompt on Friday, June 23rd at 5:30 pm, writers will have exactly 24 hours to write. Submissions are due Saturday, June 24th at 5:30 pm.

TRISH CLAY

UDAM Teaching Artist; Visual Artist | Trish Clay has worked for forty years teaching and counseling at all levels from elementary to college, including Job Corps and prison programs. She has been awarded many awards for her teaching, including two Fulbright scholarships to Japan and the Beverly Sorenson Award for Secondary Art Teacher of the Year. She has taught in China and Vietnam and traveled throughout the world, gathering ideas for her teaching. She loves to teach and interact with students of all ages, and continues to work with Girl Scouts, private individuals and the prison half way house for women.
