Western Drive In Movie

Howdy Partner! Saddle up your horses, pack your canteens, and trot on down to Provo Towne Centre for a free Western drive-in movie on the night before Pioneer Day.

What Western movie will we show? Well, that will be up to you! We are allowing the public to vote on what show they’d like to see. The choices are:
Rango (2011)
True Grit (2010)
The Magnificent Seven (2016)

Voting will be open until Friday, July 17th.

Parking and Safety Info:
We ask that folks stay in their cars, unless they are walking to or from a restaurant or the restroom. This means, no setting up Spikeball Nets, or casually walking over to another row to say “Hi” to a friend.

The first two rows will be reserved for those watching from inside of compact cars.

For all other rows, park your car “checkerboard” style to allow for social distancing between vehicles. This means that there should be at least one open parking spot in between each vehicle, especially for those that plan to open their trunks/truck beds.

Lawn chairs are allowed as long as you set them up close to your vehicle and don’t spread out. This is to maintain physical-distancing between cars, as well as to keep folks out of the way of moving cars in the driving lanes. Please keep an eye on small children in the parking lot.

We will have two food trucks for munchies that evening: Super Taqueria and Hey Soda

Drive IN Etiquette and Tips:

Turn off headlights:
If you car doesn’t have the function, please turn off your vehicle, or bring a blanket to cover your lights.

Don’t idle engine if possible:
We want to keep our event as eco-friendly as possible. Plus, nobody wants to hear a loud noisy engine while trying to watch the movie.

ZERO Trash Event:
Plan to pack out all of your trash and dispose of it at home.

Consider bringing a portable radio:
If your car doesn’t have a great radio, an inexpensive portable radio is a great solution. Block Rockers are perfect!

Turn off Interior Car Lights

Don’t sit on top of your car:
This ruins the view for every single car behind you. However, if you park in the very back row, you are good to sit on top of your car.
