BCS Project

The primary objective of the BCS PROJECT is to generate an archival documentation (large format photographs) as a permanent record of the threatened nationally significant prehistoric Barrier Canyon style rock art. Documentation will reside in Special Collections, Marriott Library, University of Utah.

The secondary, and equally critical, objective (Public Outreach Program) is to increase awareness and appreciation of Utah’s prehistoric cultural resources. Increased appreciation will result in a decrease of the amount of vandalism degrading the prehistoric art sites. Increased public awareness will also result in an enrichment of the individual experience of humanity’s
heritage.
