Spanish Fork Youth Theatre has been delighting children and adults since 1985. This wonderful fine arts program was started by Anna Murdock with a few neighborhood children, but soon grew too large to fit in her basement. Now they are a branch of the Fine Arts Program under Spanish Fork’s Parks and Rec department. Director Karma Christensen expertly runs the program, producing three shows a year. Teachers Cami Jensen, Laura Brockbank, and Kristal Thompson, help Karma mold casts of 70-100 children into top quality theater productions, with full sets, beautiful costumes, and professionally designed sound and lighting. All parts are played by children ages 5-18, (which is amazing since no audition is required to register for the classes) yet they still perform Broadway shows such as, Wizard of Oz, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Beauty and the Beast. They have public performances, as well as special performances for local elementary schools.
