Utah Figure Skating Club is the first figure skating club in the state established in 1951.

The Utah Figure Staking Club was founded in 1951, where members skated on the Hygeia Iceland outdoor rink in Sugar House. The Club moved to Bountiful, Utah when the “Bubble” was first built in the early 1970s.

We hosted our first National Championships in 1984, an Olympic year. The competition was held at the old Salt Palace, with practice ice at the Bountiful rink. We hosted the 1990 Championships as well, and then again in 1999 with the Olympic LOC as co-hosts.

Many of our athletes performed in the Opening Ceremony of the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City.  To see the ice skating performance, visit the Olympic Channel website. The performance runs from 12:14 to 21:00, with a special performance by Jozef Sabovcik. Utah Figure Skating Club is an affiliate member of US Figure Skating.

The mission of the Utah Figure Skating Club is to promote the sport of figure skating, and the development of skaters, through education, performance, testing, and competition.  We aim to support skaters of all ages by providing opportunities to achieve personal goals and advance through the US Figure Skating program.  Utah Figure Skating Club aims to foster a positive skating community with athletes who will demonstrate high levels of sportsmanship and will be able to give back to the sport of figure skating throughout their lives.
