Reinventing Life --- La Vida! In 2012, Jose Bonilla, founder of Royal Heritage Music, celebrates 45 years as a professional musician. Jose's latino/a musical influences include: Ranchero, Cumbia, Traditional, Latino, Guapango, and Bolero/Waltz. Jose, known as a joyful soul, began a passionate music career as a wee one singing in his El Salvadorian country barrio with ranchero cumbia music; followed by professional performances beginning at age 13. His professional performance list includes: Belgium, Germany, El Salvador, England, Guatemala, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, and the smallest country in the world, Rocky Boy Indian Reservation. In the United States, Royal Heritage Music sings regularly to audiences in California, Colorado, Georgia, Texas, and Utah. As leader of Royal Heritage Music, Jose Bonilla sings and plays guitar with Carlos Eligio Garcia (harp) and Leslie Whited (vocal, percussion). Jose Bonilla received a prestigious award from NATO's Retired Generals (2009). Jose wrote "La Paz" to highlight the importance of peace in our world for the event. Jose teaches guitar and percussion music to all ages; and Jose performs for all venues. Jose's resume is filled with instruction and/or performances for museums, public libraries, schools, community events, not-for-profit agencies, senior homes, the Utah Arts festival, and the SLC Farmer's Market to name a few!
