Papillon Skies was created by Andrea Hardeman at the height of the BLM movement in 2020. It started as a way to cope with the year 2020 and to add beauty and positivity into a world that seemed to be on fire and in turmoil. She addresses colorism and representation in the black community in many of her pieces. She includes the stories and inspiration by her art on her site and each purchase includes the story. Her ultimate goal with her art is to allow others to process their emotions and to feel seen.
