Filipina-American artist, Rose Datoc Dall was born in Washington, DC and raised in Northern Virginia. She received her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in 1990. Mrs. Dall's artwork is predominately a contemporary figurative painter. Roses figurative work is distinctive for her graphic compositions, her unconventional use of color and her linear graphic sensibility. Rose is also known for her body of religious artwork in addition to her figurative work.

Mrs. Dall has received several awards and honors for her work; most notably, she is a three-time Purchase Award Winner of the International Art Competition for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2019, 2015, 2009). Her works are in permanent collections at the Museum of Church History and Art in Salt Lake City, Brigham Young University, and Southern Virginia University.

Amongst numerous exhibitions, a video profile with her artwork is featured on both on the web on www.mormon.org; her artwork has also appeared in publications such as the Ensign Magazine, The Liahona, The New Era Magazine, and on LDS.org. In addition, Rose’s art has appeared on book covers, in books and is featured in several publications online and in print.

Rose's artwork is represented by Anthony's Fine Art is Salt Lake City, UT, and FourSquare ART in Mesa, AZ, as well as on her site.

Mrs. Dall's early career in art included the Gallery Directorship at the Alliance for the Varied Arts in Utah, and Visual Arts Directorship with Zion East Foundation for the Arts in Virginia. Rose has also been an art columnist for Meridian Magazine. Currently, in addition to exhibiting, Mrs. Dall enjoys teaching private Figure Drawing and Painting Workshops and lectures on occasion as a way of giving back to her community.

 

Mrs. Dall and her husband Timothy have four adult children and a growing number of grandchildren. The Dalls, having transplanted from their long-time home in Ashburn, Virginia, currently live in Woodland Hills, Utah.
