Ogden, Utah, July, 26th, 6PM, 2019 – Internationally acclaimed public sculptor Heath Satow will unveil his 12’ tall polished stainless steel figure “Ligeia” for public display at 529 25th Street in Ogden at The Argo House. There will be live music and food to celebrate the installation of the artwork. This $50,000 sculpture is on long term loan as a way to support the newly designated Nine Rails Creative District and the mission of The Argo House.

Satow’s professional work has been displayed all over the world including the University of Alaska, Los Angeles, CA, Icheon, South Korea, and Dubai. This piece represents his first Utah installation. When asked why he loaned the piece Satow said, “The Argo House has been an important connection for me to the greater art community in Ogden, and it’s in a wonderfully central location. I thought it was a good symbiotic opportunity for me to share my work while also drawing more attention to the fantastic work the Argo House does in connecting artists and the wider community.” Satow lives and works in Ogden with his fiancee Angel Castillo.

Ogden has recently designated the area between 24th and 26th Streets and Grant and Madison Avenues as the Nine Rails Creative District. “Ligeia” being on public display acts as visible landmark for the developing district and is an important contribution to the community. This contemporary piece’s mirror finish reflects the beautiful scenery that surrounds it. The impact and beauty of this sculpture must be experienced in person. Come by and celebrate the sculpture’s unveiling on July 26th, at 6PM.

Opened in 2018 The Argo House is a creative incubator space for entrepreneurs, designers, and artists. Its mission is to support local artists and business owners and serves as a gathering and collaborative workspace.
