Pleasant Grove Players will be holding auditions for the roles of Nick and Caitlin in their upcoming production of the hilarious comedy, "Over the River and Through the Woods," by Joe DiPietro, on Tuesday, August 16 and Wednesday, August 17 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm in the Keith Christeson Theater on the first floor of the PG Library (30 E. Center). Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. No appointment is needed. Howard and Kathryn Little will be directing this production.

Over the River tells the story of Nick, a single, Italian-American guy from New Jersey who is living and working in New York City. His parents have retired and moved to Florida, but that doesn't mean his family isn't still in Jersey. In fact, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is routine until he has to tell them that he's been offered his dream job. There's only one hitch.  The job he's been waiting for - marketing executive – would take him far away from his beloved, but annoying, grandparents. When he tells them, the news doesn't sit so well. Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around. How, wonder his grandparents, could he betray his family's love to move to Seattle, for a job?  Frank, Aida, Nunzio and Emma do their level best to keep him from going, including bringing to dinner the lovely - and single - Caitlin O'Hare as bait.

The roles of the grandparents have been pre-cast. The roles of Nick and Caitlin are open. Both should be in their late 20's or early 30's.

Performance dates are October 7 – 24 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Monday evenings. There will also be a Saturday matinee on October 22.
