Job Description: Craft Lake City® is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, promote and inspire local artisans while elevating the creative culture of the Utah arts community through science, technology and art. Craft Lake City's flagship event is the Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival® held each year in August. We also offer year-round programming that includes workshops, exhibitions, and other special events.

Craft Lake City’s Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, recruitment, training, and on-site staffing for the 11th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival and community outreach events leading up to the Festival. The Volunteer Coordinator is organized, a natural leader, a clear communicator, and team player with an interest in supporting Utah’s creative community. This staff member will become familiar with all DIY Festival departments and create appropriate volunteer plans to ensure a successful Festival experience. The Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and DIY Festival Project Coordinator.

Responsibilities
-Recruiting individual and group volunteers
-Designing and overseeing volunteer sign-up process
Developing and providing in-depth volunteer training
-Determining volunteer needs of each DIY Festival department and staffing appropriately
-Creating and overseeing volunteer schedules
-Determining and securing volunteer benefits
-Overseeing volunteer program on-site at the DIY Festival
-Assisting volunteers as needed
-Creating and distributing a volunteer thank-you and survey after the DIY Festival .

Qualifications:
-Previous experience working as a volunteer
-Past experience in volunteer management preferred
-Familiarity with volunteer software preferred
-Proficient with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.
-Available to access email 2-3 times daily
-Exceptional customer service skills
-Effective communicator in person and in writing
-Organized with excellent time management abilities
-Adaptable and flexible in a nonprofit, event-driven environment
-Outgoing and collaborative personality
-Stress management skills
-Ability to lift 20-30 lbs
-Must be able to stand on their feet for upwards of 10 hours a day
-Must be able to endure summer temperatures of 90 degrees and above

Requirements:
-This is a part-time, seasonal contract position (January-October 2019) with the potential to become a year-round position for the right candidate.
-Must attend all staff meetings
-Ability to work in-house at our offices, 15-20 hours per week through June
-Available to work increased hours, 30-40 per week, in July and August
-Ability to work extended hours at the DIY Festival from August 9-11, 2019
-Must have your own laptop and cell phone
