AUDITIONS FOR MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET will be held, by appointment only, March 1, 2019 at Hale Studios (537 N. 1200 W. in Orem). Appointments may be made by calling the box office at 801-226-8600. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to fill out the appropriate paperwork before your audition time. Detailed audition instructions are included in the character descriptions below. All auditions should be no longer than two minutes. Headshots and resumes are encouraged.

The role of Johnny Cash has already been cast, but we are auditioning for an understudy/cover.

Million Dollar Quartet will be directed by David Morgan, with music direction by Benjamin D. Hale. Callbacks, by invitation only, will most likely be on Saturday, March 16, 2019. Full rehearsals will begin May 4th; music rehearsals will begin remotely through Skype prior to that date. Anyone who is unable to attend the initial audition may submit an audition form and video. Please send your video along with a headshot, resume, and your audition form to meagan@haletheater.org no later than February 28th to be considered for callbacks. Character Descriptions & Audition Guidelines (Auditions are open to Men ages 18+ and Women ages 18-30)
ELVIS PRESLEY (Male; 18-35) Actor/Singer/Guitar Player to portray Elvis in his 20s at the beginning of his career; must be familiar with his music and be able to play basic guitar; should sound and look somewhat like Elvis without being an "impersonator"; songs include "Memories Are Made Of This", "That's All Right", "Long Tall Sally", "Peace In The Valley", "Party", "Hound Dog". AUDITION: Please accompany yourself on guitar to a song from the show listed in the character breakdown or a song in the style of the character for which you are auditioning. Bring your own acoustic guitar. Audition must be no longer than two minutes.
JERRY LEE LEWIS (Male; 18-35) Actor/Singer/Pianist; he was rock & roll's legendary piano prodigy and celebrated "Last Man Standing"; must be a superb piano player, able to play like Jerry Lee Lewis; fun, energetic; comic skills a plus. Songs include "Real Wild Child", "Great Balls Of Fire", "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On". AUDITION: Please accompany yourself on piano to a song from the show listed in the character breakdown or a song in the style of the character for which you are auditioning. A piano will be provided. Audition must be no longer than two minutes.
CARL PERKINS (Male; 18-35) Actor/Singer/Guitar Player (lead guitar); he was the American pioneer of rockabilly music and best known for his song "Blue Suede Shoes"; must be an excellent lead guitarist. Songs include "Matchbox", "Who Do You Love?", "My Babe", "See You Later, Alligator". AUDITION: Please accompany yourself on guitar to a song from the show listed in the character breakdown or a song in the style of the character for which you are auditioning. Bring your own electric guitar; an amplifier will be provided. Audition must be no longer than two minutes.
JOHNNY CASH (Male; 18-35) Actor/Singer/Guitar Player to portray Johnny Cash at the dawn of his epic career; must be familiar with his music and be able to play guitar; tall; should sound and look somewhat like Johnny without being an "impersonator". Songs include "Folsom Prison Blues", "Sixteen Tons", "I Walk The Line", "Riders In The Sky". AUDITION: Please accompany yourself on guitar to a song from the show listed in the character breakdown or a song in the style of the character for which you are auditioning. Bring your own acoustic guitar. Audition must be no longer than two minutes.
