Call for Artists

 Unknown, UT, Unknown

The Utah Jazz is seeking local artists to participate in a live-painting installation during Salt Lake City Summer League at Vivint Smart Home Arena from July 1-3.

The selected artists will illustrate different aspects of Salt Lake City on a 4x4-foot cube (a total of four 4x4 panels) located either inside the arena on the concourse or outside the arena on the plaza. The artwork will remain on display during Salt Lake City Summer League.

Professional artists, artist teams, illustrators and designers residing in Utah are encouraged to apply at www.SLCSummerLeague.com.

Six different artists or artist teams will be selected by a committee comprised of Utah Jazz staff members. The entry deadline is June 18, and the artists who are selected will be notified by June 24.

The summer installation builds on the Jazz’s public art campaign, which includes:

40 Seasons commemorative mural by artist Trent Call at the Zions Bank location on Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City
African-inspired mural by South African artist Karabo Poppy on the west-facing wall of Valter’s Osteria in downtown Salt Lake City
Temporary wood-paneled installation designed by Call on display at Vivint Smart Home Arena during the 2019 NBA Playoffs

Tickets for Salt Lake City Summer League are now on sale. Lower bowl tickets are available at $9 for a one-day pass, which provides access to both games played on that day. Three-day passes for all six games start at $16 and are on sale until Sunday, June 16.
