What Can We Apply For?

Examples of Cultural Vibrancy projects include: the artistic, cultural or heritage component of festivals, exhibitions, workshops/classes, creative aging, providing art experiences to veterans, creating a community mural under the direction of an artist, creating new curriculum, fostering preservation of cultural traditions of a refugee population, offering special projects that highlight a new exhibit/program, creative place-making endeavors tied to community revitalization, or other innovative projects that advance arts and culture in a community or geographic region, and has a strong public component.

The purpose of Cultural Vibrancy Project Grants is to enable organizations and groups to develop arts or cultural-based projects that are open and accessible to the general public. Cultural Vibrancy grants provide support for projects that help showcase the richness of our cultural community, which includes the following disciplines: Arts (dance, folk life, literary, media arts and film, performing arts, public art installations, theater, visual arts);  Museums (arts, botanical, history, natural history, science, zoological); Historic Preservation (service and education of architecture with a focus on the artistry involved in creating historic buildings. Neither restoration nor preservation of buildings, landscapes, nor objects is supported by this grant). Applications from organizations that do not have a cultural mission, but are producing culturally significant work will be favorably considered. Who Can Apply?

Nonprofit organizations or government agencies that have not received an FY20 General Operating Support Grant or the Arts Learning Grant.

How Do We Apply?
Once you have reviewed the guidelines and questions, you may apply through our online grant portal. You will need a portal account to access our grant applications. If you do not have one, please submit a new user request through the portal or contact the grants staff. Creation of an account can take up to two days.

When is the Grant Deadline?
The grant will be due Friday, September 6, 2019.
