The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is the hilarious Christmas play about a family of mischievous misfits who take over the annual Christmas pageant. The outcome is heart-warming. You won't believe the mayhem - and the fun - when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!

This delightful comedy is adapted from the best-selling Young Adult book, and has become a holiday staple for groups across the United States! Features plenty of great roles for children and adults, a few favorite Christmas Carols, and a lot of laughs!

Saturday, September 28, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Monday, September 30 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cottonwood Heights City Offices, 2277 E Bengal Blvd

Kids of all ages are encouraged to audition, and families are welcome to audition together. Casting Children and Teens, 6 Women (Ages 35-65), 4 Men (Ages 35-60)

Come prepared to, recite a poem or tell a one-minute story and sing a Christmas carol. Cold readings from the script will also be provided. Please be familiar with the story.

Rehearsals begin October 28 through December 6, held at City Offices Community Center.

Performances Saturday, December 7, matinee and evening performance and Monday, December 9, evening performance at Cottonwood Heights Theater.

ROLES:

Bradley Family:  Bob Bradley, Father, family man (35+), Grace Bradley, Mother, strong, collective (30+), Beth Bradley-narrator, strong voice and presence, (10-13), Charlie Bradley- funny kid brother (8-10)

Herdman Children:  Ralph- ragged, scroungy, rough, with a cool edge (12-14), Imogene - loud, bossy, crafty (11-13), Leroy- tough, sure of himself (10-11), Claude-combative, full of mischief (9-10), Ollie- troublemaker, Claude’s shadow (8-9), Gladys - small, wiry, feisty, energized (7-8)

Children-Students-Choir: Alice Wendleken- prim, proper, conceited (10-13), Maxine (10), Elmer Hopkins, (12-13), Hobie (9-10), David (8-9), Beverly (7-8), Shirley (5-6), Juanita (5-6), Doris (9-10), Angel Choir, and Shepherds

Adults: Reverend Hopkins (late 40’s +), Mrs. Armstrong-bossy, strong in voice and manner (50ish), Mrs. Slocum, pleasant, motherly woman (35-60), Mrs. Clark (35-60), Mrs. Clausing (35-60), Mrs. McCarthy-a younger version of Mrs. Armstrong, (40ish), Firemen, Santa Claus.
