Job Summary: KPCW, Park City’s local radio station, is looking for an Assistant Program Director to work directly with the Program Director/Operations Director on technical issues, Volunteer DJ training and scheduling, production of on -air spots and troubleshooting.
Primary Responsibilities: Responsibilities include:

-Work directly with the Program Director/Operations Director on maintaining the sound and execution of KPCW’s broadcast content to ensure a quality, FCC compliant optimal listening experience.

-Work with Program Director on the development and maintenance of an on-air programming style guide to assure consistency of presentation across all dayparts and programs.

-Supervise the KPCW Volunteer Air Force, our team of volunteer on-air hosts, by scheduling, training, managing and providing feedback. Also act as fill-in host when necessary.

-Input and effectively manage the station’s logs, maximizing station inventory and work with Underwriting Direcgtor to ensure accuracy and maximum revenue generation using Acquira.

-Input and effectively manage the station’s music programming, using the RCS Zetta system. Work with Program Director to assure timely delivery of audio elements and program information for broadcast.

-Work with KPCW colleagues to deepen and expand audience engagement by assuring and maintaining best practices. Work with news team, public affairs hosts and development teams to optimize usage of available tools.

-Partner with Development team for on-air fundraising efforts, including pledge drives

-Assist Program Director in evaluating and recommending specials and implement operational aspects of live remote programming, holiday and other special programming

-Assist Program Director and Underwriting Director with production of recorded spots, trouble shoot any problems with the production process and coordinate workflow issues.

-Help maintain the KPCW website with programing and scheduling updates.
Desired Qualifications: Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

-Minimum three years radio experience - preference will be given to candidates with public radio experience.

-Highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, problem solving, entrepreneurial self-starter who can meet deadlines.

-Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills.

-Knowledge of Acquira, RCS or other broadcast content delivery systems and web based content management software.

-Production and/or live producing skills desired.

-Must be available for on-call duties outside of regular business hours.

-Knowledge of Park City, Summit and Wasatch Counties.
