Description
The Graphic & Web Designer II works in support of the Marketing Director for the Caine College of the Arts (CCA). This job involves working as a member of the CCA Production Services team to ensure the smooth execution of marketing and promotional materials for college and outside events. The Graphic & Web Designer II conceptualizes,designs and produces print,online and multimedia projects consistent with CCA and University standards. + Conceptualizes,designs and produces training and marketing materials such as flyers,posters,ads,brochures,logos,signage and displays needed by the CCA,consistent with the University's graphic identity standards. + Plans,designs and manages projects and content for the CCA website,including graphics,still images,video,audio,animation and 3-D models. + May assist the webmaster with maintaining,creating and designing web content. + May be called upon to communicate ideas and concepts visually by drawing,sketching and mocking up physical examples. + Consults with CCA faculty and staff to identify their graphics needs,budget constraints and reasonable deadlines for requested projects/events. + Ensures that marketing materials visually communicate the mission of the CCA. + Develops relationships with the members of the college to create confidence and encourage using the services of the CCAPS marketing team. + Designs and places events on the video marketing stations around the Fine Arts Center using Brightsign Player. + Handles suggestions,changes,edits,compliments and complaints from clients in a professional and collegial manner,reporting necessary issues to the Director of CCAPS. + Works with various printing vendors on achieving the best quality of promotional materials within timelines and budgets. + Other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications + Bachelor's degree plus two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required. + Ability to work as part of a highly motivated team in a fast-paced environment,to analyze situations and to respond appropriately with minimal supervision. + Excellent oral,written and interpersonal communication skills,including the ability to give clear,concise and accurate instructions verbally and in writing. + Demonstrated organizational and planning skills. + Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with constituents such as faculty,students,other employees and volunteers,and patrons and customers of the CCA. Preferred Qualifications Experience in supporting theatrical,music,visual or other arts-related events. Knowledge,Skills,and Abilities + Skills in the utilization of computer programs such as InDesign,Photoshop,BrightSign and Illustrator. + Knowledge of core design elements such as typography,contrast,alignment,proximity and layout. + Knowledge of principles and practices of graphic design. + Ability to create and produce graphic materials using a range of media,methods,techniques and equipment. + Knowledge of graphic layout and photographic requirements and procedures. + Ability to analyze graphic and technical information and create interpretive illustrations. + Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements. + Ability to analyze and interpret user graphic requirements. + Meticulous attention to detail. + Ability to complete multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
