Call for Artists
Park City, UT, 84060
We encourage all participants to create and place artwork made out of natural materials on the McLeod Creek Trail between September 5th through the 13th. Hosted by PCSC Arts Council and Basin Recreation.
The Arts Council’s annual Art on the Trails event will look a little different this year. This event, developed in partnership with Basin Recreation, combines creativity and nature. Our 2020 event encourages the community to not only participate, but to create, and get out on the trail.
The call for artists for Art on the Trails is now open and we encourage all community members to participate. Art on the Trails is an interactive art walk featuring local creatives developed by the Arts Council of Park CIty & Summit County. Local creatives i.e. professional artists, emerging artists, kids, and crafty families are invited to create environmentally friendly artwork to place on McLeod Creek Trail between the Copper Moose Farmstand and Temple Har Shalom. The idea is to fill up this section of trail (where our annual event usually takes place) and fill it with artwork to create a fun and inspiring art walk for all to enjoy this September.
It’s important to remember that we are asking for all participants to make environmentally conscious artwork. That means the artwork should be somehow upcycled, or created out of natural materials. Examples include flower garlands to hang from trees, totem poles made out of sticks or driftwood, leaf mandalas, bird houses made out of upcycled wood, painted rocks (using water based paint), rock sculptures, etc.
We encourage all participants to create and place artwork on the McLeod Creek Trail at your leisure between September 5th through the 13th. Once people have filled the perimeter of the trail with artwork, it will transform the trail into an inspiring art walk for the community to enjoy.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out this form to register for the event.
As you stroll through the McLeod Creek Trail, see if you can discover the pieces of art. Take a picture and share on your social media with the hashtag #artonthetrailspc OR send us an image of your artwork at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will share it on our social media.
