Call for Artists

 Unknown, UT, Unknown

In Partnership, the Utah Arts Alliance & Element 11 are releasing a round of art grants
to support local artists for this year's
ILLUMINATE Light Art + Creative Tech Fest

ILLUMINATE is seeking individuals and groups from the art and technology sectors to create and/or display installations using light as their medium.  Think BIG! Projection Art, 3D Sculptures, Glowing Performance Art, Augmented Reality.

ILLUMINATE’s pivot plan for COVID includes areas/pods of activation around Downtown SLC.  These areas include Library Square, McCarthey Plaza, The Gateway and the Sculpture Garden at the Arts Hub.  Pieces will be up for two – three weeks so that the public can take a self-guided art tour while practicing physical distancing.

ILLUMINATE wants large-scale projects that can tolerate an outdoor setting. We also have an interest in unique projection and lighting pieces for this year’s event. If you have a great idea for a new installation or an existing project  APPLY NOW! Let’s light up this city with physical and digital art!!!

TIMELINE:
Submissions Due: September 30, 2020 at Midnight
Artist Selection and Notification: Ongoing and by October 5
Installation: First Week of November
Removal: Third Week of November (exact date TBD)

Limited funds are available to support selected projects. If you have questions about the event or the artist selection process please contact the following:
