SCERA is holding auditions for “A Night of Broadway: Tribute to the Silver Screen” concert on Wednesday, January 27 from 7-9pm. This year’s theme is classic and contemporary songs from movies or movie musicals.

“A Night of Broadway” will play in Showhouse II at SCERA Center for the Arts for March 5-13 @ 7:00pm, daily except Sunday.

Auditioners age 18 and older should prepare 16 bars of two songs you would like to perform in the show, and be songs from a movie or movie musical. Music can be classic, contemporary or character pieces, and we are looking for variety of ballads, upbeat or funny songs, and powerful anthems.  Solos, duets, trios and small group numbers will also be considered. Electronic playback and aux cord will be provided – please have your music cued. Masks are required at all times in the building, and may be removed briefly while you are auditioning.

Auditions are done by appointment, and you can register online and sign up for a time at Casting Manager. If this is your first time using Casting Manager, you will be asked to create an account, and upload a resume and headshot if you have them. If you don’t have a resume or headshot, there is space where you can add in your education, training, experience, shows, etc. However, if you are new to theatre and the audition process, don’t be intimidated…we welcome talented first-timers! If you are more comfortable, you can also submit a video audition in Casting Manager.

Auditions will be in Room 101 at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 South State, Orem. Those cast in the concert will have rehearsals on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning Feb. 1st, and have the option to participate in choreographed group production numbers as well.  The cast will need to be available for tech rehearsals on stage March 2-4. All COVID health and safety measures will be implemented at rehearsals including temperatures taken, frequent sanitizing, distancing and masks required. For more information, contact SCERA at (801) 225-ARTS.
