West Valley Arts announces auditions for its upcoming production of Footloose the Musical on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Auditions will be held in person from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at West Valley Performing Arts Center, 3333 Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City, Utah.

Footloose the Musical will run July 8, 2021 through July 31, 2021. Rehearsals may begin as early as May 1, 2021. The production will be directed and choreographed by Jenny Barlow, with musical direction by Anne Puzey.

Needed are men and women of all ethnicities ages 17 and older. The role of Vi Moore has been precast, all other roles are open, single cast and will be paid.

Those who audition must come prepared to sing 16 bars of a song in the style of the show, pop/rock or Broadway pop/rock. An accompanist will be provided. Please no minus tracks or a cappella music. There will also be a dance audition, so wear clothes that you can move in. Character descriptions are also available on the website. Walk-ins are welcome; come early and be prepared to wait until an opening is available.

Video submissions will also be accepted. Please record both a singing and dancing audition (unless auditioning for one of the adult roles, then only a singing audition is needed). If you submit a video audition, you will be required to attend call backs in person, if invited.

Call backs will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 and are by invitation only.
