West Valley Arts announces auditions for their production of Sweeney Todd. Auditions will be held Monday, June 7, 2021, at West Valley Performing Arts Center, 3333 South Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City.
Sweeney Todd is scheduled to run September 9 through October 2, 2021, at West Valley Performing Arts Center. Rehearsals begin July 17, 2021. The production is directed by John Sweeney, with music direction by Anne Puzey and assisted by David Martin and choreography by Marilyn Montgomery.
Both in-person and video submission auditions are available - video submissions are encouraged. In-person auditions will be Monday, June 7, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Needed are men and women of all ethnicities to play character roles, ages 18 and older. All roles are open, single cast, and will be paid.
All those auditioning need to prepare 16 bars of a song in the style of the show, and two dialect sides (one Standard British/one Cockney, available on our website) For those coming to the in-person auditions, an accompanist will be provided, so please no a cappella music or recorded accompaniment.

Character descriptions are available here. (Or on our website) Walk-ins are welcome; come early and be prepared to wait until an opening is available. The fields on the audition form to upload a video are only for the video audition entries.
Video Submission Auditions:
Video submissions will be allowed for the audition. To submit a video audition, complete the online audition form on our website. There are fields to upload the video or provide a link to the video. All video auditions must be submitted no later than Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Callbacks will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2021, and are by invitation only. Reading and music sides for callbacks will be available prior to the audition to ensure adequate time for those invited to become familiar with them.
