This online form is the application for the Artist-in-Residence at Bountiful Davis Art Center for fall 2021. Our program includes the following:
ELIGIBILITY
We invite all professional artists to apply for consideration. Professional artists working in visual media such as drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed-media, video, and fiber may apply. Applicants must not be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate coursework during the period of the residency. This residency is intended to facilitate experimentation and change to an artist’s work, practice, and ideas.
DEADLINE
All applications must be complete and submitted online no later than 11:59 PM JULY 17, 2021. For questions regarding the application process, please contact Alison at 801-295-3618 or alison@bdac.org.
IMAGES OF WORK
Please submit documentation of art via this online form. Please provide ten (10) images for consideration. Photos should be high-resolution (approximately 1920 pixels on the longest side and at least 72 dpi) images of work, including detailed views. Professional-quality photographs are encouraged. If you have technical issues, please contact Alison for assistance.
ARTIST STATEMENT
A statement of up to 500 words relating to the submitted work is required, including topics such as the artist’s purpose or concept, materials, process, subject matter, theories, and discourse that influence the work.
LETTER OF INTENT
Please describe a project you would like to pursue or a topic you would like to research during your residency. Explain how program participation will affect your practice, specifically how it will help you experiment and expand your work/ideas. Please limit your response to 350 words.
BIO/CV/RESUME/REFERENCES
In a single PDF file, submit a biography, CV or resume, and list three references with contact information. Limit bios to no more than 200 words.

NOTIFICATION
Selected artists will be notified by July 17, 2021. The residency will take place in the fall of 2021 and winter of 2022.
PLEASE NOTE: BDAC reserves the right at any time to decline to display any art that is damaged, unprepared for installation, excessively fragile, dangerous, or which fails to meet our standards of quality or community. All exhibited art will be covered by insurance while under the care of BDAC. Exhibited artwork may be listed for sale with a commission of 65% to the artist, 35% to BDAC.
