We strive to create an inclusive environment by maintaining a work culture that represents our rich and diverse community. In addition, we are committed to ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities by removing all barriers to ensure our theater is a welcoming space for every person. Therefore, we encourage applicants from (but not limited to) differing races, ethnicities, ages, genders, gender identities and expressions, disabilities, classes, sexualities, varying backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to apply.

Position Overview:

An engaged audience is one of the most crucial parts of a healthy theatre company. At Salt Lake Acting Company (SLAC), taking great care of the audience is foundational to our way of working. Life can pull us all in many directions and at SLAC, we honor the time and energy it takes to attend a show and support a theatre. We are very lucky to have so many loyal, supportive season subscribers, returning patrons, and first-time SLAC attendees. We make it a priority to take excellent care of our audience and make going to the theatre as easy as possible.

As SLAC continues the return to live theatre and looks forward to the next chapter as a theatre company, we are seeking an Audience Relationship Associate to join us in this venture. The Audience Relationship Associate will be focused on supporting the Audience Relationship & Subscriptions Specialist in obtaining and retaining season subscribers. Prior to COVID, we had 3,400 season subscribers. As is to be expected, the realities of the past 18 months have taken their toll on our retention of season subscribers. The Audience Relationship Associate would be assisting in our goal to re-build our subscriber base from its current 1,000 subscribers back to our previous 3,400 subscribers. As part of this support, the Audience Relationship Associate, will also work with the rest of the Audience Relationship team and SLAC Staff to succeed in our current endeavors to care for our audience. Tasks include, but are not limited to: processing season subscriptions, inbound phone/email support, outbound phone calls, various ticketing account care tasks, administrative support to the Subscriptions Specialist, renewing season subscribers at our in-person shows, supporting community outreach events like street fairs, running errands in preparation for renewal events, and assisting in subscription marketing content creation.

This position will be a new piece to an essential part of SLAC’s structure—audience care. The ideal Audience Relationship Associate is someone who is able to make genuine connections with our patrons and take a customized approach to customer service. This role calls for the ability to take direction and learn as you go with the support and guidance of the Subscriptions Specialist. We are looking for someone who can then evolve into a proactive approach to taking ownership of this role and the part it plays in this integral piece to our company—caring for and growing audience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Applicants are not expected to enter this position with the ability to complete these tasks prior to training. This list is meant to give an idea of what to expect in this role.
