The Nebraska Arts Council (NAC) is seeking an Executive Director to lead a vibrant, proactive and resourceful statewide agency that has extensive grant programs, a portfolio of pioneering initiatives and a national reputation for outstanding service to the field of arts administration.

About the Nebraska Arts Council: The Nebraska Arts Council is an independent agency of the State of Nebraska located in the heart of downtown Omaha. Its mission is to promote, cultivate and sustain the arts for the people of Nebraska. In doing so, the NAC provides grants and services to artists, organizations, communities and schools. The agency has an annual budget of $5M from state, federal and private sources. The Executive Director leads a team of nine and is governed by a board of fifteen individuals appointed by the Governor of Nebraska. The Executive Director has three key areas of responsibility: overall authority for managing and directing agency personnel including building and maintaining a cohesive team in a respectful and supportive atmosphere; guiding the team to plan, develop, implement and evaluate agency programs, procedures and fiscal management that is consistent with NAC policy; developing and maintaining relationships between the NAC and its constituency, key partners including state government, the Nebraska Legislature, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Humanities Nebraska other local, state, regional and national organizations.

The Executive Director is an employee of the State of Nebraska and qualifies for an extensive portfolio of benefits including 13 paid holidays, vacation and sick leave that begin accruing immediately, military leave, 156% state-matched retirement, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance program, 79% employer paid health insurance plans, dental and vision insurance plans and an employer-paid $20,000 life insurance policy. The State of Nebraska is a qualifying employer under the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000
