Shiver me timbers! Join all the scallywags and swashbucklers at Abravanel Hall for a spooky Halloween voyage on the Seven Seas. Bring your mates and compete for a treasure trove of prizes in one of the state’s largest costume contests!
The program will include festive Halloween music sure to entertain the whole family, featuring pieces from “Hook,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “The Witches of Eastwick,” led by associate conductor, Rei Hotoda and performed by the Utah Symphony Orchestra.
The 26th annual Halloween costume contest returns to the lobby of Abravanel Hall prior to the commencement of the concert. From 5:30 to 6:30 PM judges from KSL NewRadio and Salt Lake Comic Con will receive costumed entries in the categories of child, adult and group. No prior registration is necessary, however the costume contest line will close at 6:30 PM sharp to allow patrons time to take their seats. First, second and third place prizes in all categories will be awarded immediately following intermission based upon audience applause determined by the conductor.
