After many years, the American Fork Visual Art Board is sponsoring a colored pencil class for artists above 16 years of age. The teacher is a well-known colored pencil artist who formerly lived in Texas, Charles ‘Chuck’ Gilliam. Mr. Gilliam’s move to Utah allows him to concentrate his art work around the themes that portray ‘visions of the West.’ In March, his Balcony Gallery show in the American Fork Library was a collection of pictures of cowboys and horses. Students enrolling in the colored pencil class will receive instruction in colored pencil usage and possibly helps with portrait work. The class will be held on Saturday, June 10 and 17 from 10:00 to 1:00. Classes will be held in the Art Center at 53 West Main (formerly Nuttal’s Fabric). Registration cost is $25 for both classes. Call Sydney at 801.756.3738 to receive a supply list, parking instruction and to register or email sydney24@q.com or Sydthomas24@gmail.com.
