Founded in 1999 as the Riverton Metropolitan Orchestra, the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra is a regional and well-developed volunteer ensemble that serves communities throughout Utah. Self-funded, this nonprofit touring orchestra is not tied politically or financially to a university, church, school, or community. The mission of the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra is to ignite musical passion and increase access to the arts in our communities through local partnerships and performances. The UPO cultivates the love of playing with musical excellence, provides powerful musical experiences, and fresh, innovative engagement. We strive to instill imagination and wonder in the hearts and minds of the next generation.

The UPO is grateful to sponsors:  SL County Zoo, Arts, and Parks Program (ZAP), Utah Division of Arts & Museums, National Endowment for the Arts, Now Playing Utah, Motion Control, Wasatch Business and Technology Solutions, White Glove, and individual donors.
