Rioja is an ancient grape dating back to 873 this wine has been part of the landscape through the Middle Ages when it was made by monks, to 1709 when the Royal Economic Society of Rioja Winegrowers wrote laws on how to maintain roads to help the transportation of this wine throughout Europe. This extraordinary wine is now grown, harvested and fermented by families in the region. It’ll make for a perfect pairing with Chef Callyn’s festive winter themed five course wine dinner, set to keep you warm during these frigid months. As always this dinner will be paired to excellence by our own Harmons Wine Educator and French Wine Scholar, Sheral Schowe. These dinners are really one for the books and they sell quickly, so don’t miss out.
If you are interested in being a part of these dinners but always seem late to the post, please email Aubre at AubreWilliams@harmonsgrocery.com to be added to our wine mailer and be up to date on all the happenings at Holladay Market.
