Solfege and Sonority: Teaching Music Reading in the Choral Classroom with David J. Xiques

Presented by The Utah Fellowship of Local Kodály Specialists at American Heritage School

David J. Xiques, professor of music in the School of Music at San Francisco State University, teaches ear training and musicianship classes and coordinates the choral program. A Kodály specialist, he is a former faculty member at the Kodály Summer Certification Program at New York University. He is also a professional tenor with the SFS Chorus and serves as assistant director. Mr. Xiques is a frequent choral clinician and presenter at music conferences. His book, Solfege and Sonority: Teaching Music Reading in Choral Classroom, is available from Oxford University Press.  He also has two choral arrangements published by Alliance Music Publications: Bashana Haba ‘a and Chants of Faiths.
