Celtic Celebration

Celtic Celebration

Presented by Peery's Egyptian Theater at Peery's Egyptian Theater

Experience the authentic textures of Ireland and Scotland at our annual Celtic Celebration. High energy jigs and lyrical ballads weave an enchantment. Step dancers bring fire and energy to the stage. Haunting pipes and drums inspire images of lonely cliffs and brilliant green fields. Come celebrate the Irish in you and throw back a cold one in the theater. Sure to please everyone in the family.

Featuring:

Callanish
Callanish focuses on Irish and Scottish tunes but branches out to a variety of traditions. We feature John Adams on violin, Soren Green on guitar, Ben Spigle on flutes/whistles, Taylor Nyx on vocals and Cindy Spigle on percussion (bodhran, cahon, etc.). We hope you have as much fun listening to us as we do playing for you! Bad jokes are included free of charge.

Celtic Beat
Celtic Beat Irish Dancers are a group of trained dancers from Layton, Utah under the direction of LaRae R. Thackeray. Celtic Beat was formed in 1998 to promote Irish culture and to provide performing opportunities to young dancers. The group ranges in age from 8 through 18 years of age. Celtic Beat performs in the tradition of "Riverdance" to jig and reel music in softshoe and hardshoe. The dancers have received training from Marty Dowd and Joann Evans of "Riverdance", Jack McCardle of the McCardle Irish School in Connecticut, and Molly Bennet from Denver. They have attended workshops with the Trinity Irish Dance Company. http://youtu.be/nLtFhBnINfA or http://youtu.be/PTh9x9tqDOE
