Do you have a great script? A dream project that you’d like to make a reality? Before you can even start looking for locations or cast your first actor, you need a budget!
Regardless of your experience in finance or accounting, this course will guide you through the steps for creating a budget for your next project or educate you in one of the mysteries behind the accounting office door. We will review budgeting terminology as well as go through a budget checklist for your project – feel free to bring a script breakdown if you have one. We will drill down into specific above-the-line and below-the-line budgeting elements using a budget template but will also discuss budgeting software options.
At the end of this 1-day intensive course, you should know how to structure a budget and develop line items. Sponsored by Utah Film Commission.
Taught by Marcie Gibboney, production manager/production assistant. Marcie has worked on more than 30 films and TV series, including Disney's Andi Mack and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Limited to 10 people. For ages 18+
