Dancing builds a stronger mind, body, and community. And it's fun!

LEARN:
Polka with Circle and Line Dances. The Scandinavian Polka has a lighter beat vs. the Central European varieties. Circle and Line dances include walking, marching, and other easy dance steps generally in 2/4 time.
Waltz, Mazurka, and Mixers. The Scandinavian Waltz has its own character and forms the basis for many social mixer dances done in 3/4 time.
Schottis and Snoa. These lively dances are danced as both couples turning dances and as social mixer dances in 4/4 and 2/4 time.
Polska. The Polska (Sweden) and Pols (Norway) are based upon very old dances that originally came to Scandinavia from central Europe in the 1600s and were later modified by additional motifs from Poland, hence their names. They are danced in 3/4 time but are quite different from the much newer waltz, being unique to Scandinavia and not at all related to the Polka, a dance from Bohemia.
