Learn the basics of clay, form, and texture using classic techniques
This class is designed for adults that have no prior experience in clay. Students will learn handbuilding techniques and surface treatments, adding important foundational skills to their tool belt. Topics to be covered in the course include, but are not limited to - pinch pots, slab building, slump molds, solid form sculpture, and slip decoration. Through these techniques, students will have the opportunity to explore both functional and non-functional (decorative) forms. The course will also touch on the fundamentals of glazing and finishing work.
