Artist Statement

In recent times I have found a new interest in having figures in my paintings. Figures all around me. Figures in my dreams!  So, I have experienced a lot of failure, but also some success!  After classes on figures and painting at an open drawing session, I do feel more comfortable including figures. What I paint is a representation of what I see and feel, not necessarily of what is actually there. So, these figures are representations of feelings as I painted en plein air and in the studio. So, from Spain to England, from National Parks to familiar Utah scenes, enjoy Figuratively Speaking.
