Nature and Memories by Pamela Barrios

Nature and Memories by Pamela Barrios

Presented by Salt Lake City Public Library at Salt Lake City Public Library Marmalade Branch

Oil paintings by Pamela Barrios · Exhibit runs from Feb 1 - Mar 6
ARTIST STATEMENT:

Along northern Utah’s scenic byways, crowded woodlands create mysterious color contrasts and compositions. Northern Utah has many gardens, with flowers and bricks articulated together.

My work is inspired by the repetition of shapes, especially in nature, and the rhythm and symmetry these produce. These paintings are responses to observing nature. My responses are recorded and reflected in the paint.

I think of them as portraits, recording the personalities of the scenes I choose to copy. Perhaps the viewer will recall a memory or story in looking at my paintings.
