Jazz @ the Station with Weber State Vocal Jazz

Presented by Union Station and Weber State University at Union Station

The Union Station Foundation and WSU Alumni Jazz present Jazz at the Station, a free, all-ages concert in the Grand Lobby of Ogden’s Union Station, Wednesday, 12 February, at 7pm, featuring Weber State Vocal Jazz directed by Jenninfer Ericksen and Dan Jonas.

Vocal jazz has returned to WSU with Jazz Ensemble director Dan Jonas selecting Jennifer Ericksen to direct the singers. The current group consists of 12 WSU students - some voice students, and others from all around the campus.

Their set will feature a capella jazz and also some pieces with a rhythm section from the jazz program at WSU. Their goal as a group is to explore different styles within the jazz genre and have a great time working together to create music outside of the students’ normal choral or solo voice repertoire.

Jennifer Erickson, DMA, is an adjunct profession and private vocal instructor at WSU and USU. She is also the Vice-President, Northern Utah Chapter, National Association of Teachers of Singing.

Children are welcome as long as they do not disturb the performers or other audience members. Come early to get your favorite seat on the Plaza. Jazz at the Station often performs for standing-room-only audiences.

Jazz at the Station is sponsored by the Union Station Foundation, WSU Alumni Jazz, and grants from R.A.M.P., and Ogden City Arts. They are also sustained by donations from their monthly jazz audiences.
