Canceled: Adult Art Classes

Presented by South Jordan City at South Jordan Community Center & Senior Center

Hey Adults! The City of South Jordan is bringing you, art classes, every Monday in March and April. The classes will be from 7 pm to 8:30 pm at the South Jordan Community Center located at 10778 S. Redwood Rd. Classes will be taught in a series, March will go over watercolor and April will teach acrylic.  These classes are created for beginners but all levels of experience are welcome. All classes are taught by a professional art instructor. Each session (4 classes) is $62 per person, supplies are not included (see supplies list below). Recommended Age: 16 years old and up

March – Watercolor Syllabus: 

Week 1 – Learn drawing concepts and fundamentals of watercolor painting. Start the drawing process.

Week 2 – Learn layering techniques and color mixing. Finish drawing, start painting!

Week 3 – Learning about detail and how to use other materials for finishing touches. Finish painting, use markers or detail brush to finish the artwork.

Week 4 – Completion day.  Students can move at their own pace and work on more than one painting during each class. We will use this day to finish all paintings started throughout the course.

Class Supply List:

Watercolor palette (any brand and as many colors as you’d like, just make sure there’s at least blue, yellow, red, and black)

Watercolor paper (any brand and any size)

Brushes – a small detail brush and larger medium-sized brush (you can get value packs of watercolor brushes at the craft store, these work well and are very cheap)

Reference material – bring a picture(s) of what you’d like to paint
