Given the current circumstances, the 2020 Gina Bachauer Junior and Young Artists International Piano Competitions will unfortunately not be able to take place as originally scheduled.

The 2020 Gina Bachauer Junior and Young Artists International Piano Competitions have selected 51 young pianists to perform in June at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center and Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City.

Chosen from an original pool of 220 applicants, 113 pianists performed in the Preliminary Round, with each presenting a 30-minute program in one of five international cities: Hamburg, Moscow, Shanghai, New York City, or Salt Lake City.

24 Junior Competitors ages 11-14 and 27 Young Artists Competitors ages 15-18 are now invited to continue their quest for medals and their share of $62,000 in cash prizes. Hailing from 14 countries, these young international pianists will each perform in two Solo Rounds in June.

Five finalists of the Junior Competition will each perform a concerto movement with second piano accompaniment at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center on June 20. Five finalists of the Young Artists Competition will each perform a concerto movement with the Utah Symphony on June 27 at Abravanel Hall.
