Explore Your Outdoors! Family-Friendly Nature Talks & Activitites

Presented by Utah Society for Environmental Education at Online/Virtual Space

Claire Taylor’s work is informed by her ineffable experiences with what humans refer to as “the natural world”—a named distinction for wildlife and landscapes. Through multiple mediums (watercolor, gouache, colored pencil, letterpress printed linoleum relief blocks, and artist books that include her own creative nonfiction and poetry), she invites the viewer to see themselves as participants in ecosystems and zeitgeists often seen as separate from human. She uses these mediums to create a visual language where there is no sufficient verbal language. As a teaching artist, she leads art projects inspired by biological subject matter. She sees art as a means to synthesize the learning process for both her students and herself. Claire will share aspects of her creative process and highlights of her experiences with wildlife and landscapes that have inspired her work.
