Huntsman Day- CANCELLED

Presented by This is the Place Heritage Park at This is the Place Heritage Park

Due to the global pandemic of coronavirus (COVID-19) this event has been postponed until 2021.

***

On Huntsman Day, everyone is invited to enjoy the Park for free! We are so grateful to the Huntsman Family for providing free admission and free ice cream for all who come. So, take advantage of free admission today (and free ice cream!) and enjoy all of the activities the Park has to offer!
Climb aboard one of our historical trains where you’ll enjoy a tour of the entire Village with stops to explore all of our favorite areas. Interact with the artisans in their shops and learn more about life in the early days of the West. You’ll see a saddle maker tooling leather – you can even join him and try your hand at leather working. The blacksmith is at his forge and the Village Weaver will demonstrate wool carding and spinning. Your little ones can saddle up on one of our ponies and enjoy a ride under the carousel. There are take-home crafts, fun pioneer games and other activities to enjoy.
In the creek by the Treasure House there’s panning for gold and nearby you can dig in Prospector Pit or crack a giant geode while you learn about how mining shaped the Utah frontier. Nearby, the Native American Village is a crowd favorite, so plan plenty of time to include them in your visit.
Come hungry – the Huntsman Grill has great grub! And save room for a little bit of sugary heaven at Brigham’s Donut Shop where the donuts are made fresh daily. Or, head up to the ZCMI Candy shop where you’ll find old-fashioned treats. The Heritage Park Gift Shop at the Visitor Center is the best little shop west of the Mississippi and is open and newly remodeled! While you are at the Visitor Center, don’t miss the Mormon Battalion Museum and the Stoddard Art Gallery. Our theatre presents a short film on the founding of Utah upon request.
