Speak Up

Speak Up

Presented by West Works Theatre (formerly West Side Theatre) at Vista Heights Middle School Gym

Did you know that over 1.2 million children are trafficked (sold and exploited for money) every year? Did you know that these children are recruited from anywhere—the internet, bus stations, even the mall? Human Trafficking is the fastest growing illegal-trade market in the United States, surpassing the drug and illegal arms markets. With such staggering statistics, it can be hard to know how to begin to fight back. West Side Theatre Company—in partnership with Du Jour Arts, Atlas Dance Collective, The Verve, and Raw Focus Dance Film—is proud to present Speak Up: A Dance Concert to Raise Awareness of Human Slavery and Trafficking. We hope, through dance and performance, to help the audience develop a stronger connection to this social issue. We also aim to provide useful information throughout the evening, so that our communities are made aware of the available resources we have to use our voices to speak up and create change.
